What to Expect

No matter how well traveled a person is or how planned out their travel plans might be, arriving in a new country always has a lot of unknowns.  Where is baggage claim at? Which way do I walk to get to the car rental desk ?  Should I opt for the extra insurance? Is the driver I scheduled going to show up at the time and place we agreed on? Will my phone work when I land so I can contact the AirBnB host? I’m being asked to pay for something I didn’t anticipate…  Am I getting scammed?

 

Most of the time those questions and concerns work themselves out after a little trial and error but sometimes things don't always go as planned and that can be a stressful, frustrating and disappointing way to start out a vacation.

Upon arrival in beautiful Croatia, you will be greeted by a fluent English speaking native Croat that will help you with your luggage.  After loading up all of your belongings, you will be transported by a private shuttle to your lodging for the first day.  No need to worry about where to go or who to contact.  You’ll be traveling along with someone that knows exactly where you’re going and how to get there.

It’s always fun to have memories of your vacations pop up months after you’ve returned.  Photos on social media, a text from a travel buddy, a scene from a movie of a location you were just at.  So fun!  Invoices from police departments from countries you visited three months ago because you were driving in a lane you didn’t know that you weren’t allowed to be in… not so much. The rules of the road are different in every country and while the freedom of driving yourself around can be enjoyable, the phone calls, emails and paperwork that you have to fill out when things don’t go exactly as planned can take the shine off of that freedom.

You know that VRBO with the hot tub that looked AMAZING when you booked it? Yeah, so unfortunately, those pictures are 15 years old and that house has seen much better days. And the hot tub? It hasn’t been working for years. Oh, and sorry about the sewer smell. It’s only really bad during the nights.
